Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited information associated with Tracy Residents Directory. The reference pages do not require an account and do not store a government record about a visitor. Search forms, hosting logs, messages, outside portals, and public records each have a different data path.

Information You Enter

A name, phone number, or address typed into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that powers that result. Tracy Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the search submission on its own pages. If you contact the operators, the mailbox receives the information in your message and uses it to reply or keep a basic correspondence record.

Automatic Technical Logs

Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring information, and timestamps. Those ordinary logs help with security, uptime, and aggregate page-use measures. Cookies or similar tools may be used for basic analytics or advertising measurement where a service is enabled.

How Limited Data Is Used

Data is used to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the reference, answer messages, understand broad traffic patterns, and measure page performance. The operators do not sell a visitor list or build a named profile of people who read Tracy records information.

External Portals and Links

County, city, state, court, library, archive, and sponsored search links lead to separate services. Their own privacy policies control what happens after a visitor leaves these pages. The San Joaquin Recorder, California voter tools, Tracy NextRequest, and library systems may collect or request information under their own rules.

Service Providers and Disclosure

Hosting, security, analytics, and advertising providers may process the technical data described above. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it. The operators do not disclose message or log data for unrelated purposes.

Security and Retention

The pages use an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the operational, security, or measurement need that created them. There are no site accounts, passwords, or personal profiles for a visitor to manage or expose here.

Visitors Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operators do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, use the Contact page so the message and related copy can be reviewed for deletion.

California Privacy Choices

California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following, provides rights that can include knowing, correcting, deleting, and opting out of sale or sharing, subject to its limits and exceptions. Because the reference keeps little direct visitor data, a request normally means searching the contact mailbox and available technical logs. Send a request through the Contact page.

Public records held by the State of California, San Joaquin County, the City of Tracy, a court, or another custodian are outside this reference’s control. A removal or correction request for those records must go to the office that holds them. California’s public-record access statute is the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following; that law does not turn a private reference into the custodian of an agency record.

Policy Changes

If the data practices change, a revised policy will be posted here with a new effective notice as appropriate. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
