Terms of Use

These terms apply to the use of Tracy Residents Directory. By using the reference, you accept the terms below. If they are not acceptable, stop using the pages and linked search tools.

1. The Reference Service

Tracy Residents Directory is a private reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections connected with Tracy, San Joaquin County, and California. It hosts no government record and is not affiliated with a city, county, state, federal, court, library, or records office.

2. Acceptable Use

Use the pages only for a lawful purpose. You may not use information found through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm a person.
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another crime.
  • Make a decision governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Scrape, republish, or copy the content at scale.
  • Interfere with security, availability, or normal operation.

3. No Consumer Reports

This service is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Nothing on these pages, and no result from a linked search provider, is a consumer report. The information must not be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant, or another FCRA-covered eligibility purpose.

4. Linked Services

Government portals, libraries, archives, courts, and sponsored search tools have their own terms, costs, privacy practices, and availability. Tracy Residents Directory does not control those outside services and is not responsible for their content, errors, outages, pricing, or handling of information submitted there.

California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following, applies according to its own scope to covered businesses. A public record held by Tracy, San Joaquin County, California, or a court remains under the custodian’s rules.

5. No Warranty

The pages and links are supplied “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that an address, fee, office hour, portal, coverage year, or record description is complete, accurate, current, or continuously available.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of the pages or an outside resource, including an action taken from a record found through them.

7. Indemnification

You agree to protect and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Content

The original writing, design, logo, layout, and page structure are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is allowed. Full-page republication, systematic copying, and automated extraction are not.

9. Changes

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after the revision is posted indicates acceptance of the updated text.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms, abuses a search service, threatens another person, or harms the operation or security of the reference. Restriction may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without applying its conflict-of-law rules. California public-record access is addressed in the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following. That statute governs an agency’s records and does not require this private reference to create or hold a new resident list.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to operate.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
